The “Anti-Clock Challenge”
Following the success of the 2016 / 2017 Raad Ny Foillan Challenge which raised over £10,000, Hospice at Home invite walkers to join them taking on the Anti-Clock Challenge.
Starting in Port Erin on 28 January 2018, we will be hiking the Raad Ny Foillan – the Route of the Gull – in stages over the next fifteen months, one leg per month. This time, we will be walking first up the east coast of the island, so doing the Raad Ny Foillan anti-clockwise.
The full programme is on the Diana Hospice at Home website, here.
The Challenge is organised with the twin aims of raising money for the Diana Hospice at Home charity, whilst having fun undertaking a picturesque but physically challenging walk around the Isle of Man.
Registration for the Challenge is a minimum £10 pp. Plus, each leg will be £10 pp to participate. Children and dogs are welcome to join the Challenge, and walk for free. Non-walking friends are welcome to join the meal at the end (and if they donate £10pp to Diana, per event, that would be appreciated) – and hopefully assist with transport – for a car scheme is organised, pairing cars, start and finish.
Companies may join the Challenge as a motivational team building exercise and enter corporate sponsored teams (of 1 to 5 walkers), with a donation of £500 per team or £100 per team-member.
Certificates are awarded to all individual competitors who complete the Challenge and “walk every step of the way” with Diana, as well as to all corporate teams where at least 3 out of 5 complete each leg. (Don’t worry if you miss a leg – as long as you go back and fit it in later during the Challenge period, thats fine! You’ll still get your Certificate.)
And the Certificates, are very handsome, definitely good enough to hang on your wall, as this demonstrates,
And if you want to get a feeling for the wonderful cameraderie built up and some of the simply stunning views enjoyed as we hike around the island, please take a few minutes to page through the blog posts and walk reports on the News.
